After Care

The way you take care of your new cosmetic tattoo determines how good the end result will look. You simply cannot have a cosmetic tattoo treatment done and not follow aftercare instructions, it’ll be like it never happened, or worse; you could end up with an infection. If you want long lasting, natural looking results please read on for some tips. If instructions are unclear or you have any questions post procedure, don’t be afraid to contact us! Eyebrows

There is usually a slight tenderness and redness around the treated area, this is to be expected. The aftercare generally lasts 14 days however the entire healing process will take from 4-6 weeks depending on how your body regenerates. The best results come from the ‘Do Nothing’ or ‘Dry Healing’ method.

For the first 48 hours post treatment
  • Do not touch the area with unclean hands as this can introduce bacteria into your skin
For up to 14 days post treatment
  • Do not apply any lotions, creams, makeup, sunscreen etc, to the treated area.
  • Use a fresh pillowcase and avoid sleeping on your face.
  • Keep the eyebrows as dry as possible. Avoid activities where they could get wet, including excessive sweating, such as pools, saunas, spas, swimming, hot yoga etc and be careful not to get them wet during showers.
  • No direct sun exposure, wear a hat if outside.
  • Itching and flaking may appear during the first 7-10 days post treatment. Avoid picking or scratching as it can pull off scabs prematurely and can cause patchy results or scarring.
  • Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle, so please simply trust the process.
    • Day 1-4 Your brows will appear darker, bolder and thicker
    • Day 4-7 Your brows will start drying out and flake off appearing patchy
    • Day 7-12 Your brows will almost disappear as new layers of skin are forming on top
    • Day 12-20 Your brows will come back about 40-60% less
    • Day 40-60 It’s time for your perfecting appointment.

Eyeliner

There is usually tenderness and redness around the area, this is to be expected as the skin is very thin and sensitive. Your eye area may appear puffy or swollen and your eyelids will feel heavy. Redness of your eyes can also occur. Sleeping in a slightly elevated position can help to reduce any residual swelling of the eyes. Ice packs can be also applied on the area for 10 minutes every hour. The aftercare generally lasts 14 days however the entire healing process will take from 4-6 weeks depending on how your body regenerates. The best results come from the ‘Do Nothing’ or ‘Dry Healing’ method.

For the first 48 hours post treatment
  • Do not use contact lenses
  • Do not touch the area with unclean hands as this can introduce bacteria into your skin
For up to 14 days post treatment
  • Avoid the use of skincare or cosmetics on the treated area, when you resume using mascara, purchase a new one.
  • Use a fresh pillowcase and avoid sleeping on your face
  • Keep the eyebrows as dry as possible. Avoid activities where they could get wet, including excessive sweating, such as pools, saunas, spas, swimming, hot yoga etc and be careful not to get them wet during showers.
  • No direct sun exposure, wear a hat if outside.

  • Wait at least 4 weeks before applying eyelash extensions but keep in mind they will need to be removed a minimum 48 hours before your second session.

Lips

There is usually swelling and tenderness on the area and it can last for 24-48 hours. Ibuprofen can be taken after your treatment to help relieve discomfort. ​Ice packs can be also applied on the area for 10 minutes every hour.​ The aftercare generally lasts 14 days however the entire healing process will take from 4-6 weeks depending on how your body regenerates. The best results come from the ‘Do Nothing’ or ‘Dry Healing’ method.

For the first 24 hours post treatment:​​
  • Avoid toothpaste, just use water when brushing your teeth
  • Avoid coffee, red wine and turmeric as these can stain your lips
  • Do not touch the area with unclean hands as this can introduce bacteria into your skin
For up to 14 days post treatment:
  • You can apply a very thin layer of aftercare to your lips as this will help with dryness and general discomfort. Use a fresh cotton tip to apply the cream.
  • Avoid the use of skincare or cosmetics on the treated area.
  • Use a fresh pillowcase and avoid sleeping on your face
  • Use a straw to drink any liquids
  • Avoid foods that are overly oily, spicy or salty. Avoid taking big bites of food, use a knife and fork to cut food up into smaller bites
  • Continue to take your antiviral medication as instructed
  • Keep the lips as dry as possible. Avoid activities where they could get wet, including excessive sweating, such as pools, saunas, spas, swimming, hot yoga etc and be careful not to get them wet during showers.

Saline Tattoo Removal

There is usually tenderness and redness around the treated area, this is to be expected. The aftercare generally lasts 10 days however the entire healing process will take from 6-8 weeks depending on how your body regenerates. Saline removal is a process. Desirable results take an average of 3-6 sessions depending on the depth and pigment of the unwanted tattoo, sessions need to be a minimum 6 weeks apart to ensure your skin has fully healed.

For the first 48 hours post treatment
  • Do not touch the area with unclean hands as this can introduce bacteria into your skin
For 14 days post treatment
  • Do not apply any skincare or cosmetics to the treated area.
  • Use a fresh pillowcase and avoid sleeping on your face.
  • No direct sun exposure, wear a hat if outside.
  • You can go back to your normal activities. If the area do gets wet just blot it dry with a clean tissue.
  • Itching and flaking may appear during the first 7-10 days post treatment. Avoid picking or scratching as it can pull off scabs prematurely and can cause patchy results or scarring.
  • Once the scab has fallen off on its own, you may begin applying pure Vitamin E oil to the brow area and can keep applying this until your next treatment.
  • Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle, so please simply trust the process.
