Pre-Care Information

Proper preparation is essential for optimal results and safe healing.
Please read carefully and follow the instructions relevant to your treatment.

Failure to follow pre-care guidelines may result in your appointment being postponed and your booking fee forfeited.

General Pre-Care (All Services)

Applies to:

  • Cosmetic Tattoo (Brows, Lips, Eyeliner, Freckles, Beauty Spot)

  • Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

  • Non-Laser Removal

  • Plasma Fibroblast (Face & Body)

  • Paramedical Camouflage & Scar Revision

48 Hours Before Appointment:

• Limit alcohol and coffee
• No recreational drugs
• Avoid anti-inflammatory medication (unless prescribed)

These increase bleeding and sensitivity.

1–2 Weeks Before:

• No cosmetic injectables in the treatment area
• No chemical peels, skin needling, or aggressive facials
• No laser treatments in the area
• Avoid sunburn or excessive sun exposure

Cosmetic Tattoo Pre-Care

Brows, Freckles, Beauty Spot

• Do not wax, tint, laminate, or thread 5–7 days before
• Avoid retinol, vitamin A, AHAs/BHAs around the area for 7–10 days
• No Botox 2 weeks prior

Lips:

• If prone to cold sores, you must begin antiviral medication 3 days before and continue 3 days after (consult your GP).
• Lips must be well hydrated in the week leading up.
• No lip filler 4 weeks prior.

Eyeliner:

• No lash extensions
• No lash lift/tint 1 week prior
• Remove contact lenses before appointment

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) Pre-Care

• Wash scalp thoroughly before appointment
• No hair fibres, concealers or styling products
• Avoid sunburn on scalp
• No microneedling or scalp treatments 2 weeks prior
• Inform us of any scalp conditions (psoriasis, dermatitis, folliculitis)

Plasma Fibroblast Pre-Care (Face & Body)

Plasma fibroblast creates controlled micro-trauma to stimulate tightening.

2–4 Weeks Before:

• No sun exposure or tanning
• No solarium
• No active skin treatments (laser, peels, needling)
• Discontinue retinol 2 weeks prior
• No injectables in the area for 4 weeks

Skin must be:
• Intact
• Not inflamed
• Not sunburnt
• Free from active acne or irritation

Darker skin types have higher risk of pigmentation changes. A consultation is required.

Non-Laser Cosmetic Tattoo Removal Pre-Care

• Area must be fully healed (minimum 8 weeks post tattoo)
• No recent laser in the area (minimum 8 weeks)
• No sunburn
• No retinol or active skincare 7–10 days prior

Multiple sessions are typically required.

Paramedical Tattoo / Scar & Stretch Mark Camouflage Pre-Care

• Scars must be fully healed (minimum 6/12 months old)
• No keloid scarring history unless medically cleared
• No active inflammation in the area
• No recent surgery (minimum 6/12 months depending on area)
• No laser or needling 4 weeks prior

Camouflage and revision often requires multiple sessions.

Not Eligible for Treatment

You cannot be treated if you are:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Undergoing active cancer treatment
• Experiencing active infections in the treatment area
• Taking Roaccutane (must wait 6–12 months post course)
• Experiencing uncontrolled diabetes
• Immunocompromised without medical clearance
• Prone to keloid scarring (for plasma or paramedical work)
• Recently had surgery in the area

Doctor approval may be required for:
• Autoimmune conditions
• Blood disorders
• Heart conditions
• Epilepsy
• Prescriptions blood thinning medications

Important Notes

• Arrive with clean skin — no makeup on the area
• Eat and drink plenty beforehand to stabilise blood sugar
• If you feel unwell, please reschedule
• If contraindications are not disclosed and complications occur, Aura Cosmetic Tattoo is not liable

Aura Cosmetic Tattoo reserves the right to refuse or postpone treatment if the skin is not in optimal condition.
